# Best AI scribe for podiatrists in Australia (2026)

## Australian podiatry notes

A podiatry week covers several kinds of consult. You will write some mix of:

-   a diabetic foot risk assessment, with neurological and vascular findings and an IWGDF category (the [Diabetes Feet Australia](https://www.diabetesfeetaustralia.org/new-guidelines/) guideline)
-   the written report back to the referring GP after the first and last service under a GP chronic condition management plan, billed as item 10962 ([Services Australia](https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/services-available-under-gp-chronic-condition-management-plan))
-   a biomechanical or gait assessment, and the rationale for an orthosis
-   a wound or high-risk foot review, often with a photo
-   a nail surgery note
-   an NDIS functional report, written for a plan reviewer
-   the stretches, footwear change and daily foot check the patient has to do between visits

A generic SOAP note does not cover that set. Either the scribe drafts each of those from the consult, or you rebuild the same templates by hand and copy the letter.

## Grounded Scribe

Grounded Scribe is an Australian note product. Its own [podiatry comparison](https://www.groundedscribe.com/blog/best-ai-scribe-for-podiatrists-australia-2026) lists diabetic foot, biomechanical, MBS 10962, NDIS and surgical templates, and Australian hosting in Sydney.

Its [pricing page](https://www.groundedscribe.com/pricing) meters sessions. Free is 10 a month. Plus is A$19 for 30. Core is A$39 for 60. Pro is A$69 for 120. Max is A$99 for unlimited. Those prices exclude GST. Custom templates are capped at 5, 10 or 25 until you reach Max. Healthcare-grade transcription sits on the paid plans.

We could not find a published Cliniko, Halaxy, Nookal or Zanda integration, photos in the note, or a published error rate.

## Heidi Health

Heidi is a general medical scribe: notes, templates, and a long integration list. Its [Cliniko page](https://www.heidihealth.com/en-au/integrations/cliniko) says that connection is available on Practice and Enterprise. The [EHR integration add-on](https://www.heidihealth.com/en-au/pricing) shows a dash against every individual plan. The free plan covers standard templates; advanced templates sit on the paid tiers.

Heidi publishes satisfaction statistics. We could not find a measured hallucination rate. As of writing, Clinician is about A$85 a month billed annually and Practice is A$130, annual only.

## Lyrebird Health

Lyrebird is an Australian medical scribe aimed at GP workflows. Its [pricing page](https://www.lyrebirdhealth.com/au/pricing) gives a free plan of 50 consult or dictation actions and 10 documents a month, and states "No EMR Integrations". Pro is A$160 a month billed annually, with Best Practice, Cubiko and BetterConsult.

We could not find a Cliniko, Halaxy, Nookal or Zanda integration. Lyrebird publishes time-saved figures, not an error rate.

## Freed AI

Freed is a US outpatient scribe. Paid plans start at [US$39 a month](https://www.getfreed.ai/pricing) for 40 notes, with a 7-day trial and no continuing free plan we could find. We could not find an Australian data-residency statement, MBS wording, or NDIS formatting.

## Notes on the table

**A full list and a session cap.** Short, frequent appointments are normal in podiatry: general care, nail procedures, high-risk reviews. Grounded Scribe's Pro plan is 120 sessions a month. That is six recorded consults a day across a twenty-day month. A list busier than that moves to Max, at A$99 a month plus GST, for the note alone. Hanah's Practice plan is a flat A$80 billed annually, unlimited, with the integration and the patient plan included.

**After the note.** Footwear, a stretch, a daily foot check: most of the outcome sits at home. The other four products stop at documentation, or at a letter. Hanah drafts the care plan from the same consult and puts it on the patient's phone.

**Photos belong in the record.** A wound review without the picture is half a note. Hanah captures photos and video in the session and carries them into the note and the documents.

**Filing the note.** Copying out of a second tab is how scribes get dropped. Hanah runs inside Cliniko, Halaxy, Nookal and Zanda on the plan you would actually buy. Heidi's Cliniko connection needs Practice or Enterprise. Lyrebird's integrations are Best Practice and Gentu. Grounded Scribe does not publish a PMS integration we could find.

**Error rates.** Ask every vendor for a measured error rate and the method behind it. We publish ours.

Those four stop at the documentation. Hanah does the documentation and the work it sits in: the filled proforma, the GP letter, the photo, the exercise and the patient's plan, out of the same consult, landing where you already work.

Record a high-risk foot review on a real patient. Check that the findings you said are in the note, the GP letter is ready to review, the photo is in the record, and the daily foot check is on the patient's phone. Run a trial like that before you commit.
