# How to connect Hanah to Cliniko

If your practice runs on [Cliniko](https://www.cliniko.com/), you can connect it to Hanah in a couple of minutes - no IT project, no exporting spreadsheets, no double data entry. Once connected, your Cliniko patients and appointments flow straight into Hanah, and the notes you dictate land back where they belong.

## How the integration works

-   **Connect with an API key.** Generate a Cliniko API key and paste it into Hanah once. The key stays server-side - it never touches the browser - and you can revoke it from Cliniko at any time.
-   **Your schedule comes across.** Today's appointments and patients show up in Hanah, so you start a consult against the right person without re-typing anything.
-   **Notes go back to the right chart.** When you finish a session, the note is matched to the Cliniko patient and appointment it came from.

## Why we built it this way

A scribe is only useful if it fits the day you already have. If you have to leave your practice-management system, copy a name across, dictate somewhere else, and then paste the result back, the tool is creating work, not removing it. Connecting directly to Cliniko closes that loop: the patient list you already keep is the patient list Hanah uses, and the note ends up in the chart you already trust.

It also keeps you in control of your data. The connection is a key you issue and can withdraw, the patient link is explicit, and nothing is filed automatically - every note is a draft until a clinician signs off.
